GHPL is partner in oil and gas exploration and production assets and is continuously endeavoring to drill more and more wells efficiently in order to meet the energy requirement of the country for sustenance through indigenous oil and gas resources.
GHPL endeavors, in collaboration with the operators and partners, to achieve high performance, optimum and cost effective drilling and well solutions, for full well life cycle while adhering to the international health, safety & environmental standards. Currently, the drilling of 16 wells is ongoing in different geological setups with a variety of challenges especially in the northern part of Pakistan.
GHPL oil and gas exploration and production assets are spread all over Pakistan, covering all provinces. GHPL portfolio covers Upper Indus Basin, Middle Indus Basin and Lower Indus Basin.
Drilling in the Upper Indus Basin (Kohat-Potwar) is extremely challenges due to its complex geological nature (severe thrusting, high pressure water zone, salt zones, drastic formation heterogeneity, repeated lithologies due to duplex nature thrusting, deepest targets more than 5000m and lost circulation issues).
Drilling in Lower Indus Basin are relatively easier as compared to North as targets are shallower with almost no high-pressure problems.
